Abdominoplasty ("Tummy Tuck"), Rhinoplasty, Band
Aid Face Lift, and Other Procedures

We offer many procedures at our Atlanta plastic surgery facility. The following is a glossary of procedures, including everything from the most popular procedures in the area, such as Atlanta rhinoplasty and breast enhancement to lesser known procedures such as a band aid face lift (also called a mini face lift). In Atlanta, tummy tuck procedures are among the most common surgeries, yet most people who want one are not aware of what exactly the procedure entails. Atlanta abdominoplasty is very popular and common, but as with all of our cosmetic surgery options, we urge our patients to educate themselves on the details of the procedures they are considering.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation, or augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breasts. By inserting an implant behind a breast, surgeons are able to increase a woman's bra cup by one or more sizes. The result is a fuller, more shapely bustline. Dr. LeRoy is a leader in Atlanta breast augmentation.

Breast Lift / Breast Reduction

Mastopexy is a surgical procedure designed to lift and reshape breast tissue. Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. Breast implants can be used in conjunction with mastopexy to increase firmness and breast size. Breast reduction reduces the size and improves the shape of large breasts.

Breast Reduction - Male

Enlarged male breast is a condition not commonly discussed, but may affect as many as one third of the male population. It may affect only one breast or both. There is no known cause in the vast majority of cases. The procedure removes fat and/or glandular tissue from the breasts. In extreme cases, excess skin, resulting in flatter, firmer, and better looking chest.
Chemical Peel

A Chemical peel uses a chemical solution to remove the damaged outer epidermal layers. Phenol, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) are the chemical typically used. Chemical peel may be performed in conjunction with a facelift. A facelift, inconjunction with a peel, can remove facial folds, fine wrinkles, and any facial discolorations.

Collagen/Dermalogen/Fat Injections

Laugh lines, smile lines, crow's feet, or facial creases occur over the areas of muscle movement. Soft-tissue fillers, most commonly injectable collagen or fat, can help fill in these lines and creases; this temporarily restoes a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance. These soft-tissue fillers can also add fullness to the lips and cheeks. Injectable fillers may be used alone or in conjunction with either a skin resurfacing or skin-removing procedure.

Ear Surgery

Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head, or to change the shape or reduce the size of large ears. This is commonly referred to as ear pinning.

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery is a procedure to remove fat--usually along with excess skin--from the upper and lower eyelids. Blepharoplasty can be done alone or in conjunction with other facial surgery procedures such as a facelift or browlift.

Facelift

A facelift is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat and skin of the face and neck, restoring a youthful look. It does not stop the clock, but it does turn the clock back. A facelift can be done alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.

Facial Implants of the Cheeks, Chin, and Jaw

Plastic surgeons use facial implants to improve and enhance facial contours. They may help strengthen a jawline or bring the chin or cheekbones into balance with the rest of the face.

Forehead Lift, Including Endoscopy

A forehead lift or "browlift" is a surgical procedure designed to tighten the tissues that cause drooping brows, horizontal lines, and furrows in the area above the eyes. The forehead is smoothed, eyebrows raised, and frown lines minimized.

Laser Resurfacing of Facial Skin

In laser resurfacing, sometimes called "laser peel," areas of damaged or wrinkled skin are removed, layer by layer. The procedure is most commonly used to minimize the appearance of fine lines, especially around the mouth and the eyes. However, it is also effective in areas of uneven pigmentation. Laser resurfacing may be performed on the whole face or in specific regions.

N'Lite Facial Rejuvenation

The new NLite technique selectively targets facial capillaries to reduce the appearance wrinkles, inducing a chain of natural events that lead to an enhanced rate of collagen production. And unlike traditional laser treatments, the NLite exhibits minimal unwanted side effects. Click to learn more

Liposuction

Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing fat from all areas of the body with excess fat. Through tiny incisions, fat is removed to help sculpt these trouble areas.

Microdermabrasion - Parisian Peel

Reduce the appearance of discoloration, roughness and fine lines by gently abrading them away with the Parisian Peel.

Mini Facelift (Band-Aid Facelift)

For patients not yet prepared for a full facelift, the mini facelift can produce dramatic results.

Nose Surgery

Rhinoplasty, or surgery to reshape the nose, is one of the most common of all plastic surgery procedures. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip.

Tummy Tuck

Abdominoplasty, or "tummy tuck," is a surgical procedure designed to reduce the appearance of a protruding belly. Excess skin and fat is removed from the middle and lower abdomen, and muscles of the abdomen wall can be tightened. The result is generally a leaner, more contoured look.
